Effects of Drying and Rewetting Cycles on Carbon Dioxide Emissions and Soil Microbial Communities

چکیده

Extreme rainfall and drought events attributed to climate change are anticipated occur in the current century, resulting frequent drying rewetting cycles (DWCs) soils, which will, turn, influence soil properties microorganisms. Sample plots of Sophora japonica, Pinus tabulaeformis, Ginkgo biloba were selected, undisturbed columns collected. CK was constant treatment; precipitation intensities R80, R40, R20 80 mm, 40 20 respectively, total for four treatments 160 mm. Significant differences observed cumulative CO2 emissions among various DWC frequencies same woodland soils. A significant correlation between Birch effect three Pearson’s analysis revealed that background nutrient contents key factors influencing alpha diversity. In conclusion, DWCs generally increased fluxes, emissions, addition decreasing diversity microorganisms when compared those treatment.

Impact of soil drying-rewetting stress on microbial communities and activities and on degradation of two crop protection products.

Prior to registration of crop protection products (CPPs) their persistence in soil has to be determined under defined conditions. For this purpose, soils are collected in the field and stored for up to 3 months prior to the tests. During storage, stresses like drying may induce changes in microbiological soil characteristics (MSCs) and thus may influence CPP degradation rates. We investigated t...

Elevated carbon dioxide alters the structure of soil microbial communities.

Pyrosequencing analysis of 16S rRNA genes was used to examine impacts of elevated CO(2) (eCO(2)) on soil microbial communities from 12 replicates each from ambient CO(2) (aCO(2)) and eCO(2) settings. The results suggest that the soil microbial community composition and structure significantly altered under conditions of eCO(2), which was closely associated with soil and plant properties.

The Resilience of Microbial Community under Drying and Rewetting Cycles of Three Forest Soils

Forest soil ecosystems are associated with large pools and fluxes of carbon (C) and nitrogen (N), which could be strongly affected by variation in rainfall events under current climate change. Understanding how dry and wet cycle events might influence the metabolic state of indigenous soil microbes is crucial for predicting forest soil responses to environmental change. We used 454 pyrosequenci...

Effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and soil nutrient addition on the growth of Phragmites australis under different drying-rewetting cycles

The frequency of soil drying-rewetting cycles is predicted to increase under future global climate change, and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are symbiotic with most plants. However, it remains unknown how AMF affect plant growth under different frequencies of soil drying-rewetting cycles. We subjected a clonal wetland plant Phragmites australis to three frequencies of drying-rewetting cycl...
